Paul was born in Minneapois. He did his undergraduate work at the University of Minnesota and received his M.A. in Speech & Theatre from the University of St Cloud. After graduation, he moved to New York to seek his future in the theatre, where he found a niche managing Broadway touring shows.
Paul became a Partner and V.P. in a major theatrical production company with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle and Atlanta. His company produced special effects for over 70 Broadway shows. The company also produced corporate events in the U.S., Europe and Asia for Fortune 100 companies. Paul's specialty was scenic design, lighting and directing. He worked with headliners such as Tony Bennett, Diana Ross, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, and Bill Cosby.
Recently, Paul sold his share of the business and is living full time in East Hampton with his wife Katherine Ryden. Paul and Katherine have owned homes on the East End for over twenty years. He has applied his design experience to renovating three of their homes, and hopes to apply this experience in real estate.
While not looking at real estate, Paul is an avid tennis player. He also does pro-bono work for local charities, and continues to renovate his home. Paul and Katherine enjoy spending time at the New York Athletic Club in the City while attending theatre, opera, concerts and museums.
